About Our Worship Services
Early Risers Gathering
Sundays, 8:00 AM
This is an informal, congregation-led service open to anyone desiring a small, friendly worship setting.
Main Worship Service
Sundays, 10:00 AM
We begin each service with intergenerational praise and worship. Vibrant gospel and jazz traditions influence our music, but we also incorporate beloved hymns and contemporary song selections.
Children and youth are dismissed for age-appropriate worship after singing, while adults remain together for a time of prayer and teaching. On the first Sunday of every month, we celebrate communion with a family-friendly, participatory service incorporating children, youth and adults.
Children and youth programming is available for crawlers – 12th grade as follows:
- 1st Sundays: Family Service; toddler and preschool care are available for crawlers – 3 years
- 2nd-5th Sundays: toddler care, preschool church, children’s church, and youth worship

The Park Avenue United Methodist Church story began in 1893
at the corner of 35th Street and Chicago Avenue S and in 1911 moved to the corner of 34th Street and Park Avenue S. Today, Park Avenue United Methodist Church continues to fulfill its call to serve the Central Neighborhood community of south Minneapolis.
In 2011 we celebrated 100 years on this corner! We are eager to see what God will continue to do here over the next 100+ years.
