Facilities Support

Our Park Avenue United Methodist Church building is over 100 years old. We work together to care for the grounds and maintain this historic building so that we can share our space and serve our church and community well into the future.

Winter Snow Removal

Every time it snows

Park Avenue UMC contracts to have our parking lot plowed during the winter, but volunteers shovel and blow the snow off the sidewalks and entryways to the church. Our building is used every day of the week. We need a team of volunteers to keep our walkways and entrances clear of snow and ice—to keep everyone safe and happy.

Summer Lawn Care

Weekly, May – October

To be good stewards of our resources and to build community, we utilize volunteers to mow the grass, trim weeds and trees, and keep the gardens looking beautiful.

Work Days

Biannually

Volunteers of all ages gather at Park Avenue UMC with garden tools, cleaning supplies and tool boxes to do deep cleaning, winterizing and repairs inside and out. We end each work day with a lunch and fellowship.

Facilities Support

As needed

Our facilities staff work with our trustees (lay leaders) to take care of the building’s mechanics, maintenance, grounds, tools, and small engines. Volunteers with knowledge in any of these areas or a willingness to get your hands dirty are welcome.
