Dear Friends,

The prophet Jeremiah said,

“But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you …
and pray to the Lord on its behalf,
for in its welfare you will find your welfare.”

At Park Avenue United Methodist Church, we are committed to limiting the spread of COVID-19, the coronavirus. Because we care deeply about the health and wellbeing of our members and families, our staff and friends, our neighbors and all who are touched by our ministries, the Park Avenue Church leadership team and ministry staff have made the decision to suspend all public worship and gatherings at Park Avenue through March 21.

While we will not be holding public worship this Sunday morning, the sanctuary will be open from 8:00-11:00 a.m. for anyone who would like to come for a quiet time of prayer and scripture reading. We will honor public guidelines for social distancing, and ask that people stay a respectful distance from each other. Also, please use good judgement that if you are feeling ill to stay home and not risk infecting others.

If you need prayer or other assistance, reach out by contacting us via email –  info@parkavechurch.org

During this time, please take the opportunity to reach out to your neighbors and members of the congregation who may not be able to get out to the grocery store, or who may have other needs for assistance. If you need assistance, or if you are able to provide such assistance, please contact the church office at info@parkavechurch.org and we will connect you.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updated information as further decisions are made; please be sure to check our website https://www.parkavechurch.org and Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ParkAveChurchMpls/

Smaller groups, such as ministry teams or Bible studies, should be in contact with your group leaders regarding plans for scheduled meetings.

Let us pray for one another, for our church and community, and for all whose lives and wellbeing are being affected by this disease.

Do not be afraid, for I am with you.
Do not be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

Isaiah 41:10
