Dear Park Avenue:
Our Senior Pastor Rev. Dr. Will Healy has been away on medical leave since August 2017. God has been faithful and our ministry continues while he is on leave. And you have been faithful too—continuing to be active in worship, ministry and service. You have also generously offered prayers, encouragement and support to Pastor Will and Julie Healy. We are grateful for you.
At Park Avenue’s request the leadership of the Minnesota Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church has assigned Rev. Cooper Wiggen to serve as an interim pastor. He comes to us with four decades of experience having served congregations in Minneapolis, Duluth, Edina, and Plainview-Elgin. Rev. Wiggen will preach, provide pastoral care, and equip staff and lay leaders.
After being introduced to the congregation on Sunday, March 18, Rev. Wiggen said, “I am honored by this opportunity to help in serving Park Avenue in its ministry. I have been delighted by your worship, and greatly encouraged by your leadership.”
Please join us in welcoming Rev. Wiggen and continue to pray for Pastor Will on his journey to recovery.
Yours in Christ,
Rev. Dan Johnson, District Superintendent, Minnesota Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church
Sherri Boone, Chair, Staff Parish Relations Committee, Park Avenue UMC
