Experience what makes
Park Avenue United Methodist Church
unique!

We invite you to join us for worship each and every Sunday at 10am on the corner of 34th Street and Park Avenue in Minneapolis. There is also a smaller, more intimate congregation-led gathering in the Sanctuary at 8am.

Our church has been on the corner of 34th Street and Park Avenue (address & directions here) in South Minneapolis for over 100 years, and we’d love for you to be a part of the next 100!

Welcome to Youth Director Darelle Williams!

Youth Director Darelle Williams joins the Park Avenue family and is ready to transition into this new role. Welcoming change, Darelle has experience as a leader in various community settings with diverse backgrounds and ages.  Formerly serving as a caretaker and youth minister, he considers himself to be a “natural problem solver”, a listener, with influence and “zeal to share Christ with the next generation”. A product of this community, Darelle’s passion for building relationships and connections with local youth and families is dear to his heart.

Darelle shares … “I’m deeply humbled and honored to be joining such an excellent body of believers. I’m excited to serve alongside the staff and volunteers at Park Avenue Methodist, my prayer is to be an asset and ally for the youth as they find their path in Christ. My family is just as excited as I am. We can’t wait to bond and serve with you all. See you soon, family!”

We welcome Darelle and his talents and graces to Park Avenue!

So many new fall activities … get involved!

Meet the pastors and other church leaders, learn about our history, find new ways to be involved, and consider joining the church as an official member at the end of the session. To RSVP your space, contact Office Administrator Michelle Higgins at michellehiggins@parkavechurch.org

Join us for Trustees All-Church Workday!
If you have a heart to keep things in good order, you’re invited to spend a few hours (indoors or outdoors) to help spruce up our church building and grounds. Just show up at 9am or shortly after and you’ll be put to work … there are myriad tasks that you could help with (all ages and abilities welcome!) and a light lunch will be served as the day concludes by 1pm. See you there!

Children’s Sabbath Service-Sunday, October 6
On first Sundays, our kids & youth stay with us during the worship service instead of being dismissed for their own worship services. This Sunday, October 6 will be a special chance for our church to commemorate the global Children’s Sabbath with kids involved throughout … plus the ever-popular “Prayer Chair” and a Children’s Message. Hope to see you there! (And the new Kids Activity Bags will make their debut …)

Jazz Sunday-October 14:
We are BEYOND excited about our upcoming Jazz Service at Park Avenue on Sunday, October 14th. Included will be Gregory Porter’s “Take Me To the Alley” and a portion of John Coltrane’s musical masterpiece, “A Love Supreme,” featuring the artistry of Peter Virck on saxophone, Ethan Yeshayaon on bass, Trenon Graham on drums, and Park’s own Martial Besombes on piano. Sermon by our own jazzy Pastor Will Healy. Hope to see everyone there … bring a friend who might appreciate this non-traditional Sunday morning.
