Experience what makes Park Avenue United Methodist Church unique!
We invite you to join us for worship each and every Sunday at 10am on the corner of 34th Street and Park Avenue in Minneapolis. There is also a smaller, more intimate congregation-led gathering in the Sanctuary at 8am.
Our church has been on the corner of 34th Street and Park Avenue in South Minneapolis for over 100 years, and we’d love for you to be a part of the next 100!
We are resuming youth worship service on Sunday, February 26. During the 10am, service, all youth grades 6 – 12 are invited to gather in the Youth Room following the singing of Glory Be. At the charge conference earlier this year, Pastor Will described the possibility of Park Avenue entering into a relationship with InterServe—an organization specializing in providing interim staffing for children and youth ministry. Things have come together and we are fortunate that one of the founding directors of InterServe, Kris Bjorke, will serve as interim youth minister. Kris is passionately committed to youth and brings two decades of experience in providing youth ministry.
Following worship on Sunday, February 26 youth and parents are invited to the Youth Room to greet and welcome. There will be good doughnuts, juice and hot coffee….
The meeting to continue planning the 2017 youth mission trip will immediately follow our time of fellowship
Giving Statements available –
It’s tax time – the 2016 giving statements are available at the table in the hallway on Sundays. After Sunday, February 12, any remaining statements will be mailed out.

Jazz Service – Sunday, January 15 at 9:45am …

Pastor Will explains …”Miles Davis was once quoted as saying, “When you hit a wrong note, it’s the next note you hit that makes it good or bad,” a word that strikes me as an apt metaphor for a grace-filled life! My own experience and appreciation of jazz as an art form (as in all improvisational forms of music), is that the direction taken by the artist is so often so wonderfully unexpected. It’s that powerful reminder–from a deep place, from the heart of the artist—that when our lives do not (as is inevitably the case) go “according to plan,” when we get blindsided by unexpected beauty or confusion or even suffering, there is often a chance at a “next note”—the place where God meets us and where his grace proves sufficient. It is, in other words, the Good News of the Gospel!
All that to say, I am excited to see what God has in store for us on Sunday, January 15th here at Park as we welcome the gifts of Debbie Duncan and a terrific team of musicians to offer our praise to God in such a unique way! Won’t you join us?
No worries, you can get the highlights and printed report here
