Experience what makes Park Avenue Church unique!

We invite you to join us for worship each and every Sunday at 10am on the corner of 34th Street and Park Avenue in Minneapolis. There is also a smaller, more intimate congregation-led gathering in the Sanctuary at 8am.

Our church has been on the corner of 34th Street and Park Avenue in South Minneapolis for over 100 years, and we’d love for you to be a part of the next 100!

Recognize a “saint” in your life!

Tuesday, November 1st not only is the day we turn the page in our calendars from October to November, it’s also the day Christians observe as All Saints Day, a day we pause to remember those people in our lives who have pointed the way to God for us. Sunday, November 6th is the day we will observe All Saints Day here at Park Avenue, as we will again take a moment in worship to invite folks to light a candle for those saints. This year we are adding to that invitation, asking you to share the name of a saint in your life, that those names might be displayed on the screen during the communion part of our worship. We expect it will be a powerful way of giving thanks to God for caring for us through those God has used to love us into being, some gone from us now and some still living. To participate, you simply need to provide us the name—we’ll do the rest.  You can email us, share a name on a yellow prayer card and drop it in the offering plate on a Sunday morning, call and leave us a voicemail (612.825.6863), or share a message with us on Facebook (Park Ave United Methodist Church – Minneapolis) , or email the name(s) to newsletter@parkavechurch.org

Pastor Will writes, “Whenever I’m invited to share a name or light a candle, mine gets lit for the same person, my Grandma Lydia…”  (continue reading here)

Wednesday Nights – Bible Study and Prayer

Pastor Alanna leads adult Bible Study in the Gathering Room at 6:30pm.  The group is studying and praying the Psalms and new attendees are welcome.

And if you are in need of mid-week prayer, join us in the Children’s Village on lower level at 6:30pm. Prayer is an important part of Park Avenue — a time to pray for our church and raise our petitions and  praise to the Lord.  You can pray aloud, or silently – whatever your comfort level and needs require.

Sunday Suppers return!
Sunday, October 23 and Sunday, November 6

Share dinner and build a sense of community with the same small group of individuals from our church community on two occasions.  The meals will be hosted in homes October 23 and November 6 .

Sign up in the hallway after service as there is still a bit of space available for Sunday, October 23, or fill out this form  if you are interested in joining us on November 6!

Please join us for Trunk or Treat!
Monday, October 31, 6 – 7:30 pm in the church parking lot

Annually, Park Avenue provides a safe, welcoming environment for Halloween fun. Our children and neighbors look forward to this event every year. We need your participation to make this our best Trunk or Treat yet. We are looking for 34 individuals, families and ministry teams to decorate a car and then provide candy and treats as the most adorable kids you will ever meet move from trunk-to-trunk.

If decorating your car is not your thing, there are other ways to get involved:

  • provide candy and/or small treats – you can drop it off at the church office
  • help with the hot cocoa and smores stations
  • distribute flyers in the surrounding neighborhood (flyer distribution dates are: 10/22 and 10/30 )
  • pray for a well-attended, joyous event

Sign up in the hallway after service, or email Adaobi Nduka adaobinduka@parkavechurch.org
