Park Avenue United Methodist Church is known by many as where Prince got married. It’s true. Not only did Prince get married in our sanctuary, but he also grew up in the neighborhood and built friendships with the people of Park.
But Park is known for much more. We are a beautiful multiracial mosaic of welcoming, gracious people doing our best to trust God, love each other, and serve our community.
We are marking our 130th year of worship, ministry, and service in South Minneapolis. Over 130 years, thousands have experienced Park’s powerful music and worship. Countless children, youth, and adults have been introduced to Christ and shaped by the love of God. We continue to help clothe, feed, and encourage folks in our urban neighborhood. For decades, we have partnered with missionaries in God’s work all over the world. And all of this continues today. We have been and continue to be a vibrant, Christ-centered, multiracial, and multiethnic church on the block and for the block.
