On August 13 our congregation learned our Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. Will Healy, had been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). (See text of letter from Pastor Will)
Please join us in praying for Pastor Will, his wife, Julie, and the Healy family. Prayer has healing power!
Following worship please stop at the table just outside the sanctuary to write a note to the Pastor Will or drop off a card. You may also mail cards to the church address.
From time to time Pastor Will and Julie post updates on CaringBridge: www.caringbridge.org/visit/willhealy
To my Park Avenue family,
I received some hard news this weekend, having gone to the doctor to try and understand some health symptoms I’d been experiencing over the past week. A blood test resulted in a diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Of the four basic types, AML is the most common and also the most challenging form of leukemia to treat. I have begun chemotherapy treatment and will be hospitalized for the next month at Abbott Northwestern here in Minneapolis. While the isolation required of this time of treatment precludes personal visits, Julie and I want our Park Avenue family to know how profoundly grateful we are for your love and prayers as we begin this difficult chapter.
With much fondness and hope in Jesus, Pastor Will
