If you were with us for worship last Sunday, you know that we got the opportunity to pray for and send off 19 youth and 6 adult leaders heading to D.C. for their summer mission trip. They’ve been getting ready for this 10-day trip for some time and pull out in rented vans tomorrow (Friday) morning at 7 a.m. to make the long drive to D.C. They will return on August 15.

Thank you for the ways you’ve generously supported the fundraising efforts to make sure each one of our students can go. And thank you for the commitment to pray for the group. Of course, praying for the group as a whole is great, but to make it more personal, I thought you’d like to know their names. Maybe put this list in your Bible, beside a bedside table, or on your fridge. If you’d like to pray for folks by name, see our August 4th email newsletter.

And just a reminder that Khanh Nguyễn will be at Park on August 17, 6:30 – 8 p.m. to talk with us about The Gospel, Honor, Shame, and Race from an Eastern Perspective. In this seminar, she will help us explore cultural differences between east and west, honor and shame, and how the Asian voice can expand our discussion when it comes to systemic racism and Christianity.

I hope you are able to attend. So we can plan for space and refreshments, please drop me an email: greggtaylor@parkavechurch.org.

Looking forward to seeing you in worship this Sunday. If you’ve been watching online, we’d love to see you in person!

And remember, let’s follow the way of Jesus and breathe love,

Gregg
