This Sunday is All Saints Sunday. What is that?
It’s the Sunday when Christians of many traditions remember and honor those who’ve come before us, run the race, and have gone on to eternity.
A common guiding scripture for All Saints Day is Hebrews 12:1: “Since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us.”
During our prayer time, Minister of Congregational Care, Erin Brekke, will lead us through a special time of prayer on this All Saints Day. We’ll have the opportunity to give God thanks for folks who have come before us and you’ll have the opportunity to light a candle in remembrance of any loved one who has passed. I hope you’ll join us.
Also, remember two upcoming Wednesday seminars. On November 2 and 9, Khanh Nguyen will be with us for the two-part seminar series, Dismantling White Jesus from an Asian and Multiethnic Lens. This is important, ongoing work as we seek to confront and dismantle racism. You can help us prepare for space by signing up here.
Looking forward to seeing you in worship on Sunday. If you’ve been watching online, why not join us in the sanctuary? I’d love for you to experience the beauty and goodness of Park in person, and I’d love to greet you face to face.
Breathe love, my friends!
