I just wanted to let you know about an upcoming seminar at Park. On Wednesday evening, February 15, Ben Mchie, Executive Director of the African American Registry, will present on the topic, Black History: Setting the Table for the Future. I hope you will plan to join us in the Gathering Room from 6:30 – 8 p.m. for what is sure to be an insightful and educational evening.
For years, we’ve been proud to have Ben and the African American Registry as one of our building partners at the church. In addition to being the Registry’s Executive Director, Ben is an educational consultant, historian, author, and media producer. His work has resulted in the Registry being the most comprehensive online database resource of African American heritage in the world. It is a rich treasure trove of education and inspiration. Through the Registry’s programs and initiatives, Ben is committed to inspiring the thinking and imagination of youth, preparing and equipping teachers for the classroom, and reforming educational curriculum.
After every conversation with Ben, I feel inspired and more knowledgeable about our community and world. I think you will, too. So, join us! The seminar is free, but it would be very helpful for planning if you registered. You can do that by clicking here.
Planning Park’s Future: Survey closes on February 15
Thank you to all who’ve responded to the strategic planning survey. There’s still time to respond. Everyone’s input matters, and we want you to participate in planning our future together. If you’ve yet to give your input about what you would like Park to be in the future, will you take a moment and fill out the brief church atttender survey? The survey is for everyone who attends in person or online. Just click here.
Can you help?
It’s great to see the parking lot full on Sunday mornings! Attendance is on the rise, and newcomers are visiting. All good! The challenge with our small parking lot is that we don’t have enough spaces for everyone, including the elderly and other folks and families with limitations who need to park closer to the entrance. So, I’m wondering if you’d be willing to help. If you can walk two blocks, would you be willing to use the parking lot at 34th and Chicago on Sunday mornings? Look for Wilder Complex Parking sign. It is available to us each week. Thank you! And, of course, parking on the street will also free up some spaces.
Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday in-person or online!
Breathe love,
Pastor Gregg
