How do you practice God’s presence?

By August 17, 2023No Comments

At the end of my sermon last Sunday, “How long is the trip to heaven?” I suggested a simple take-home assignment to help us practice God’s presence. Since several folks have asked for it in writing, here you go.

Whatever you’re doing and wherever you may find yourself, try getting into the habit of praying this prayer in your heart throughout the day:

Holy Spirit, think through me till your ideas are my ideas.
See through me till your perspective is my perspective.
Love through me till your love is my love.

If you commit it to memory until it becomes second nature, at some point, I think you’ll find that you will have moved from praying the prayer to the prayer being prayed in you, like breathing. And if you want to take it one step further, take a moment at the end of the day and write down what you have learned.

I hope this is helpful to you. I’d love to hear what your experience is with it.

Looking forward to worshiping with you on Sunday!

Much love to you, my friends,

Pastor Gregg
