An Eastern Perspective on the Gospel and Race

By July 28, 2022No Comments

How can an Eastern perspective bring us a more complete understanding of the gospel and issues of race?

I’m pleased to let you know of a Wednesday seminar coming up. Khanh Nguyễn will be at Park on August 17, 6:30 – 8 p.m. to talk with us about The Gospel, Honor, Shame, and Race from an Eastern Perspective. You may remember Khanh when she preached at Park back in January. In this seminar, she will help us explore cultural differences between east and west, honor and shame, and how the Asian voice can expand our discussion when it comes to systemic racism and Christianity.

So we can plan for space and refreshments, please let me know if you’d like to attend. Just drop me an email: greggtaylor@parkavechurch.org.

And just a word of thanks. We received a generous outpouring of support last Sunday to provide scholarships for youth going on their summer mission trip to D.C. In the special offering, you gave $2800. That means the trip cost for every youth who wants to go is covered. Wow!  THANK YOU! Thank you for being a church that loves and invests in our kids. It matters!

Looking forward to seeing you in worship this Sunday. If you’ve been watching online, we’d love to see you in person!

And remember, let’s follow the way of Jesus and breathe love,

Pastor Gregg
