Hold the Dates

By August 11, 2022No Comments

Hard to believe, but we’re in the closing weeks of Summer and Fall is just around the corner (where does the time go?). With that in mind, mark your calendar for a couple of things coming up at Park this Fall.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 18 | RALLY SUNDAY AND PARKING LOT PARTY!

Sometimes you just want to have fun. Good food, great people, music, stuff for the kids — it’s all part of our Fall Rally Sunday where we’ll welcome everyone back with a Parking Lot Party following worship. The whole neighborhood is invited. And you are, too. Invite some friends to join you and introduce them to the goodness of Park!

WEDNESDAY SEMINARS ON MENTAL WELLNESS

This Fall, we are partnering with NAMI Minnesota to offer a series of mental health and wellness seminars for youth and adults. The series will run four consecutive Wednesday evenings (September 28 – October 19) from 6:30 – 8 p.m. Come early at 6 p.m. for a soup supper. Here’s the schedule.

September 28, 6:30 – 8 PM (6 PM Soup Supper)

Youth Class: Anxiety, Stress, and Coping

Adult Class: Early Warning Signs of Mental Illness in Youth

October 5, 6:30 – 8 PM (6 PM Soup Supper)

Youth Class: Ending the Silence

Adult Class: Coping with Kids

October 12, 6:30 – 8 PM (6 PM Soup Supper)

Adult Class: Understanding the Children’s Mental Health System

October 19, 6:30 – 8 PM (6 PM Soup Supper)

Adult Class: You’re the Expert: How to Successfully Navigate for Your Child

THE GOSPEL, HONOR, SHAME, AND RACE FROM AN EASTERN PERSPECTIVE

And just a reminder to join us at Park this coming Wednesday, August 17, 6:30 – 8 p.m. for this important seminar. Khanh Nguyễn will help us explore cultural differences between east and west, honor and shame, and how the Asian voice can expand our discussion when it comes to systemic racism and Christianity.

So we can plan for space and refreshments, please let me know if you’re attending. Just drop me an email: greggtaylor@parkavechurch.org.

Looking forward to seeing you in worship this Sunday. If you’ve been watching online, we’d love to see you in person!

And remember, breathe love and live in the wonder of loving God, others, and our neighbors — as Jesus loves us,

Pastor Gregg
