Although I’ve only experienced it once in my time here at Park (you know, the pandemic thing), one of my favorite Sunday morning worship experiences is the palm processional on Palm Sunday. Not just children (as you see in many churches), but everyone moving around and singing and waving palms in the sanctuary. Makes me happy.
So just a heads up, don’t miss it. Palm Sunday is on April 2nd. And plan to come a little early for breakfast. Our youth will be cooking up some pancakes to help raise some money for youth missions this summer. And I believe (I hope!) bacon will also be involved.
Palm Sunday begins what’s known as Holy Week, the week leading to the crucifixion of Jesus on Good Friday and followed by Easter Sunday. I hope you’ll be able to take part in some or all of the Holy Week opportunities at Park.
Here’s the schedule:
Palm Sunday | April 2nd.
Palm Sunday Pancake Breakfast. Come early before service to enjoy pancakes cooked up by our youth (funds received go to youth missions).
Maundy Thursday Service | April 6. Join us at 6:30 for a brief contemplative service with hand anointing and communion.
Good Friday | April 7. The sanctuary will be open all day, with continuous audio from our 2014 service of “Seven Last Words of Christ from the Cross,” featuring standout preaching from some of our favorite pastors and special guests from the past. We will hold a Good Friday service at 6:30 pm with family-friendly interactive stations for prayer and reflection.
Easter Sunday Service | April 9. Our Easter Sunday service (10 am) is always a highlight. Join us!
Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday.
Much love to you, my friends,
Pastor Gregg
