The results are in from the Christmas survey. Since Christmas Eve is on a Saturday and Christmas Day is on a Sunday, we thought we’d ask what you thought about attending church on those days. Thank you to all who responded. It was really helpful.
So, what did we learn from the 100 folks who filled out the survey?
- 50% would attend Christmas Eve at Park
- 40% would attend Christmas Day at Park
- 21% would not be able to attend either
What does it mean? We will offer both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services this year. Our Candlelight & Carol Service on Christmas Eve will be at 5 p.m. Our Christmas Day service will be at the regular 10 a.m. time. And it will be VERY kid-friendly, relaxed, and last about 45 minutes. More to come on that.
I also want to thank all those who participated in Monday’s Trunk or Treat. You guys were impressive — your decorations, games, candy, and especially the way you interacted with the kids made it such a fun evening. Here’s what our children’s minister Annie Taylor said: “Trunk or Treat was a smashing success this year! We gave the neighborhood ‘pumpkin’ to talk about by handing out almost 10,000 pieces of candy to more than 300 of our neighbors in spooky costumes. The book donation pile was a favorite — we ran out of books in the first hour! Thanks to all of you who donated candy and showed up with fun and festive trunks.”
And just a heads up. We will begin our Estimated Giving Initiative this Sunday at church, something we started two years ago to help plan the budget for the coming year. It’s been a huge success!
You’ll receive an email letter from me this Tuesday, November 8, with more information. The letter will also include a link to the online Estimated Giving Card. We are trying something different this year. Instead of spending hundreds of dollars on materials and postage, we are only sending out a digital version of the letter. However, through November, printed copies of the letter will be available on Sunday mornings in the sanctuary and Estimated Giving Cards will be in the bulletin. So, this coming Tuesday, look for my letter in your email inbox.
Looking forward to seeing you in worship on Sunday. If you’ve been watching online, why not join us in person? I’d love for you to experience the beauty and goodness of Park in person, and I’d love to greet you face to face.
Breathe love, my friends!
Pastor Gregg
