It just hit me this week that it was two years ago when we got word that we were in a pandemic. Everything changed. We all had to learn new ways of living and working. But today, there is positive news. So, I’d like to share an important update with you about our masking practice at Park.
If you are fully vaccinated, you are not required to wear a mask or maintain physical distance while in the church building, including the sanctuary on Sunday mornings. Of course, you are welcome to continue wearing a mask.
If you are not fully vaccinated, please continue to mask and maintain social distancing. For optimum protection, use an N95 or KN95 mask.
I encourage you to read the full statement below from our Church Leadership Board: . . . .Given current COVID numbers, vaccination levels, and recent guidance from the CDC for our area, the Park Avenue Church Leadership Board is announcing the following update to masking practice in the church building, effective March 2, 2022. For more details about what to do in case of possible exposure or a positive test result, regardless of vaccination status, see information on the CDC’s website.
- Fully vaccinated – You are not required to wear a mask or maintain physical distance while in the church building. Of course, you are welcome to continue wearing a mask.
- Not fully vaccinated – Please wear an N95 or KN95 mask and maintain physical distance while in the church building.
- Positive Covid-19 test, regardless of vaccination status – If you have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 5 days or have symptoms, please stay home.
- Vulnerable to Covid-19 – If you are vulnerable, you are highly encouraged to wear an N95 or KN95 mask and maintain physical distance to create the safest environment for you in the church building.
- Cornerstone and Joyce Pre-School – Until further notice, masks are still required for Cornerstone and for everyone on the main level during Joyce Pre-School’s operating hours (M-F, 8-5).
Keep in mind that because of the fluid nature of COVID, should the situation change, we will update protocols accordingly. Thank you all for the way you have navigated this pandemic with understanding and grace. Thank you for using good judgment in this time of transition.
Breathe Love!
