For this week’s weekly word, I thought it would be nice for you to hear some reflections from someone else.
Paul Dixon is a long-time, faithful member of Park and currently serves on our Church Leadership Board. Everyone connected to Park has benefited from the way he has given of himself and gone the extra mile or two during his time. Actually, he’s gone multiple miles extra. He loves God and loves people. And he’s a joy to be around. If you know him, you know what I’m talking about. If you don’t, it’s definitely worth your time to get to know him. Trust me, your life will be better.
Paul gave me permission to share his recent reflection on time and death. Perhaps you’ve seen it on his Facebook page, but just in case you haven’t, here it is.
A few years ago, I viewed my list of Facebook friends, 8 had died. A few months ago, I viewed my list of Facebook friends, 4 more had died. Two of my high school classmates died a few months ago. Looking at the obits a few months ago I noticed the doctor who performed surgery on a family member died. He was 52. Also noticed a salesperson I knew from my Target Stores days died. He was 67. I've been in the toy industry for a while, three people I knew -- ages 58, 63, and 65 -- died last year. The reality of death has become more apparent to me in the past few years. I am choosing to focus on the enjoyment of life, friendship, positivity, and inner peace. Trying not to waste time on the judgment of others. For I do not truly know the depth of most people's life stories. May more peace enter your mind for the rest of your time.
Breathe Love,
Pastor Gregg
