At times, our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person,” Albert Schweitzer wrote. “Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.”
During this Advent season of hope, peace, love, and joy, I’m curious—who has rekindled your light when it felt like it was fading? Maybe take a moment today to think of those who have “lighted the flame within you,” as Schweitzer wrote, and let your gratitude for them guide you to be that spark for someone else this season. After all, “the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness does not extinguish the light” (John 1:5).
May the light of Christ, coming into the world, inspire you to kindle hope in someone else.
Much love,
Pastor Gregg
