No doubt, Jesus loved a party.
You can’t read the Gospels without noticing how Jesus brought joy to people’s lives and enjoyed get-togethers, dinner parties, and banquets. He compared the kingdom of heaven to such things. Much to the chagrin (and judgment) of some of his contemporaries, he loved to have fun. He invited those who followed him to have fun with each other, too, being examples of our God of joy.
So, hopefully by now you’ve heard about Sunday Funday. This Sunday (September 10), we’ve designed a short worship service at 10 a.m. followed by a party in the parking lot to meet and talk and have fun with each other. An ice cream truck, popcorn, karaoke, and games will all be part of the festivities. And our friends, Brass Solidarity, will be there, too. It’s all free.
If you come to Park regularly or haven’t been in a while or have been tuning in online, come on! If you’re thinking about inviting a friend, this would be a good Sunday. Let’s celebrate a new season together. Let’s bring the joy into each other’s lives.
