Wave the Branches, Bring a Friend, Eat Some Pancakes
This Sunday is Palm Sunday, the day we remember how crowds welcomed Jesus into Jerusalem by waving palm branches and shouting "Hosanna!" It was a moment filled with celebration — but also with deep meaning and tension. The people longed for a Messiah, and even though many dared to hope, others were already questioning — and would soon reject — him.
Palm Sunday reminds us:
It’s always right to bring our whole hearts to Jesus — hearts full of hope, even when the way ahead is hard to understand.
It’s also a beautiful Sunday to invite someone along. Maybe a friend, a family member, a neighbor — someone who could use a reminder that God is still at work in this world, bringing love, healing, and hope. A simple invitation could make all the difference for someone this week.
And, of course, what’s a celebration without some good food?
Our Youth Pancake Breakfast is happening before and after worship. Come early or stay late — or both! Every stack of pancakes you enjoy helps support our youth as they prepare for their summer service learning trip.
As we move into Holy Week, I invite you to spend a little time reflecting on these words from Philippians 2:5-8:
"Adopt the attitude that was in Christ Jesus...
he emptied himself...
he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death,
even death on a cross."
How might I make room for the humble love of Christ to shape my heart this Holy Week?
Much love,
Pastor Gregg
