Youth

A place for faith, friendship & belonging

We are an intentionally multiethnic & LGBTQ+ affirming place to belong for students to grow closer to God, each other, adult mentors, & the Minneapolis community.

Park Avenue Youth offers a vibrant mix of activities, including Sunday discussions on faith and life, Wednesday gatherings with games, food, and talks about Jesus, a modern youth choir, fun monthly outings, weekend getaways, camps, and service projects to grow and give back.

SUNDAYS

Sundays offer students a chance to connect with peers and mentors, engaging in meaningful discussions on faith and life tailored to their current stage.

First Time Visiting?

  • Families will gather together in the Sanctuary for the first part of worship.

  • Most Sundays after the musical worship, youth are invited to connect with the designated youth leader, who will be standing at the back of the center aisle on the main floor of the sanctuary to guide them to the youth room.

  • The designated leader will engage with your student(s), make them feel welcome, and walk with them to the Youth Center.

  • Upon ending of the worship service, you may reconnect with your student(s) in the Youth Center located on the parking lot side of the building one floor up - above The Gathering Room.

Serving our city

Each month during the school year, youth participate in a local service project. In the past these have included partnering with organizations such as The Beyond Between, Agate Housing & Services, and Adult & Teen Challenge.

guest speakers

Along with our regular teaching, guest speakers on Wednesday nights allow youth to learn from a variety of voices in our church and community!

dinner!

We know the school week is busy, so volunteers provide meals each week for our youth so they have time to eat together and you don’t have to worry about dinner!
